CONSERVATION OF THE FIRST BUILDING
The Government Girls’ College (Currently known as Devi Balika Vidyalaya) was founded on the 15th January, 1953, at Castle Street, Borella, in a building that was constructed with pre fabricated material.

With the increase of the number of students, it has been decided to replace these buildings with new, multi storied ones. On a request made by the PPA, we were able to conserve the administrative section of the first building where the Principal's room and Office were located, and our beloved 'Mara Tree' which has sheltered thousands of Davians through the years.
